To achieve this, we use an array of high quality and versatile surfacing options, which are created in-house using the very best, British-built products. These include the following:

 

Matchplay Surfacing: First on our list of matchplay surfacing, which is incredibly versatile and capable of offering a far more natural feel when compared with other artificial products. An outstanding multi-sport surface that’s particularly ideal for football, our matchplay surfacing is sand dressed and can be used continuously almost immediately after installation. It also includes a built-in cushion layer to ease the burden on player’s leg joints, while the surface offers all-weather usage to help add value and increase potential revenues.

 

Conqueror Surfacing: Conqueror is a third-generation (or 3G) sports surface that’s filled with sand and rubber, while it’s playing characteristics make it ideal for both hockey and football. This type of surface looks uncannily like grass, while the rubber infill provides extra grip for studded boots and helps to optimise the performance of players. Offering both comfort and shock absorbing underlay, it’s a surface that helps your budding sports stars to really develop their skills.

 

Polymeric Surfacing: Known as Type 3 polymeric surfacing, this material is widely used in schools and is known to offer a high slip resistance for netball. To achieve this, the system utilises EPDM rubber crumb granules, which are mixed and bound together before being laid onto a macadam base. The surface is then given a coat of non-slip paint to reinforce its secure playing characteristics, helping players to move at pace while controlling the ball and retaining their footing.

 

Tarmac Surfacing: Macadam surfacing (or tarmac to you and me) is arguably the single most popular choice for MUGA pitches, both in schools and sports clubs nationwide. At NWS, we’ll provide the full ground preparation needed to lay macadam surfacing, while we can also apply a fresh top coat on an existing tarmac façade where required. Regardless of your needs, this surface is great for playing basketball or netball outdoors, while it also enables performers to move safely and with genuine peace of mind.

These surfaces lay the foundation for safe and enjoyable gameplay, while providing the secure footing and sense of control of helps players to develop their skills over time.

As if this was not enough, we all offer advanced non-slip court paint in a vast array of colours, including custom shades to suit your exact needs. This is an important practical consideration, as all MUGAs must be marked accurately depending on the precise sports that they host!
